“My first major goal is to earn my GED. I would like to earn my GED by
the end of the school year. To accomplish this I must attend classes, be
on time, participate, and take practice GED tests. Most importantly I must
not give up on myself.”
The Partnership's goals focus on awareness, access, linkages, diverse
representation and a strong and growing funding base.
Goal One: to gather information about local educational, support and career-related
services for adult learners in Brockton, and publish the information on
a consistent and regular basis.
Goal Two: to strengthen links between service providers, community-based
agencies, employers, post-secondary institutions, and the community to
ensure easy access and smooth transition for Brockton area adults in need
of basic education.
Goal Three: the Community Partnership for Adult Education identifies and
addresses barriers that inhibit adults from successful participation in
adult literacy programs. Those barriers are transportation, childcare,
health and social service issues, and language and cultural issues.
Goal Four: the Partnership is comprised of diverse representation for
all key organizations and constituencies in the Brockton Community. We
work collaboratively to meet the educational and related needs of adults
in our geographic area.
Goal Five: The Community Partnership for Adult Education seeks a strong
and growing base of funding and in-kind resources to support and sustain
literacy and related services.
